VCE Japanese Tutoring
In our VCE Japanese Tutoring course at Benchmark, we focus on the four aspects that exams and SACs are based on: grammar, writing, speaking and listening.
Our VCE Japanese tutoring is designed for Year 11 and Year 12 students looking to maximise their study score and ATAR. All sessions are online, so students across Victoria can access the same quality of tuition. We go beyond the textbook, exploring Japanese culture, current affairs and real-world language use, so students build genuine confidence alongside their exam skills.
Grammar
Follow our teaching PowerPoints and worksheets for every required VCE grammar point, specifically created for our Benchmark students. Our PowerPoints are clear and concise with multiple examples while our worksheets allow students to fully understand the material at hand. Every grammar point tested in VCE Japanese exams and SACs is covered in a logical, progressive sequence.
Writing
Our comprehensive writing booklet will teach you exactly how to structure your essays for each topic genre, the correct discourse form layout, and many useful expressions to include. Students will naturally develop skilful vocabulary usage and kanji accuracy through our lessons. Writing is one of the highest-weighted components of the VCE Japanese exam, and we're also happy to mark unlimited essays outside of lessons.
Speaking
With both co-founders scoring full marks (100/100) on their VCE Japanese oral exams, our results-proven three-step study process will maximise your marks in speaking. We provide the templates you need to draft your speaking script and guide you through every stage. Our lessons include numerous mock oral practices that closely mimic the final exam.
Listening

How does VCE Japanese get scaled?
VCE Japanese scales very favourably compared to most other subjects. Historically, a raw study score in the mid-30s in Japanese can scale up to the low-40s, making it one of the better-scaling VCE subjects for your ATAR. How often are VCE Japanese tutoring sessions?
Most students attend one 60-minute session per week, though we strive to be flexible with room for multiple sessions a week. Many students also opt to attend additional sessions during SAC periods and in the lead-up to the end-of-year oral and written exams.
Do you offer online VCE Japanese tutoring?
Yes, all sessions are online via video call. Students receive custom PowerPoints, worksheets, and writing booklets, and can send through essays for marking at any time. We have students located across Victoria.
